3 months without coaching a Blood Bowl match…
MuRRe was sitting at his deck. He was looking over alist of players and their profiles. He had been scouting for months, trying to find players for a new team.
He called out for his best friend and assistant manager.
“Get your scrawny butt in here Fredrik”, MuRRe shouted out while smirking.
MuRRe could hear the footsteps in the stairs. He knew Fredrik had grown a bit impatient over the months, and while usually in a good mood his friend had been a bit on a downer lately.
“What you need mate”, Fredrik asked while walking through the room. “I have a list I need to show you, some prospects”, MuRRe answered with a huge smile knowing the huge amount of work needed to get everything together. “What is this, I don’t recognize any of these names”.
MuRRe started to explain, “I have been scouting, in secret over these past months. This is the list of players I have chosen for my new team to be, The Nordic All-stars”. There were 11 players, Chaos to be more exact. But it wasn’t what you would normally expect. Fredrik quickly looked through the list and each player and reports of matches. He looked at MuRRe with confused look, “These are Chaos players, but some of them don’t seem to be correctly trained”, he continued, “Also, none of these players are licensed to play in the MML, you know that right?”, Fredrik said knowing he would be the one having to work countless hours to get all the paperwork done.
MuRRe stood up from him chair, put his arm around his friend, “This is it, I’m gonna be making a passing Chaos team, our opponents will think we are going for a bash game, but in reality we will be pulling all sort of Elf BS, and I need your help”. Fredrik walked behind the desk, sat down, put the papers down. “If this is what you want to do you have my support, but I can’t make any promises”.
MuRRe smiled once again, “That’s all I needed to hear. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, some players still need reassurance, but with the amount of players already agreed it should be proven not to be too hard”.
As they walked towards the fireplace, Fredrik turned around, “I have to say, I’m confused. I was sure you would come back with Elves. Bringing in another team could be useful, helping you better understand the game”.
There was still a huge hurdle left, actually getting a spot. But MuRRe wouldn’t worry about that. The only thing he could do now was to get everything else in place and hope Nuffle would the last part needed…
