Grimbeards in talks for takeover

Discussions are under way with an undisclosed party in regard to potential takeover and rebranding of the Granite City Grimbeard’s it was leaked today.

Our sources believe that Manny Schotts, the Grimbeard’s current chairman is in advanced talks to sell the WFC team for a substantial figure. In a recent interview for Dwarves Illustrated he discussed that he had taken the team as far as he could and it was now time for the Grimbeard’s to take a new journey. Speaking candidly about his time in charge he mentioned that ‘his position though enjoyable has been one of continued scrutiny and recent league standings have forced this difficult decisions upon him so watch this space for details’.

The Grimbeard’s have suffered back to back poor season’s with a record of 2 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses in both campaigns, which is much adrift from the high expectations put on the club after winning the Happy Serenity Bowl in season 6. The team have suffered some injuries and lost a few players along the way however some supporters believe that their has been a split in the camp and the dressing room is not a happy place since the training hill bust up between Grimbeard’s captian, Grimkrin and their Star Player Doric Ratsmasher. Insiders have told us that the spilt started due to the continued violent direction the club was heading in and Grimkrin has stated in more than one interview that this is not the legacy he wanted to leave behind when he retires and was quick to point out that with the exception of playing the White Owls, pitch clearing wont win them games.

Although it is still unknown who the successors may be or the direction the team will take in the coming seasons, our sources say that the decision and more importantly the truth will be presented to us over the coming weeks.
