Blooding the Bloodshields

My mother told me
Someday I would buy
Galleys with good oars
Sails to distant shores

Stand up on the prow
Noble barque I steer
Steady course to the haven
Hew many foe-men
Hew many foe-men

My mother told me
Someday I would play
Games with high scores
Falls to many floors

Stand up on the line
Noble team I steer
Steady course to the endzone
Hew many pow-down
Hew many pow-down

My mother told me
Someday I would find
Alleys with good beers
Forging our careers

Stand up on the line
Noble team I steer
Steady course to the endzone
Hew many pow-down
Hew many pow-down

My mother told me
Someday I would die
Bloodied on this field
Carried out on my shield
Carried out on my shield
Carried out on my shield

Drum of song held high sound over regimented ore splash and rolls of distant thunder, horns bellowed out to the night in unison with blinding flashes of lightning dancing down to the waves below.
The Saehrimnir viking has begun and the party are ready to be blooded in battle, drowned in mead and filthy with riches! But if this isnt to be then they will gladly find Valhalla in their efforts.
“Bloodshields” as the Saehrimnir clan are known make reference to their pure frenzied obedience to battle with little or no regard to self preservation, victory or Valhalla is their only option.
Often used as a slur, the Saehrimnir view it with pride.
The Saehrimnir Clan name itself comes because of an abundance of boar imbedded in huge forests that skirt the perimeter of their villages, ancient legends of the Olds Gods tell that Saehrimnir the boar is re-killed and prepared each evening for the Gods and Hero’s feast in the Great Halls of Valhalla!
Where the party is heading only the tides can tell, but you can be sure they brought some pig skins along for the ride!
